about xismosas:
A visual multi-media space dedicated to art, culture, fashion, social issues, and humor.
I thought of the name for the collective which is a play on the word chismosas and the tagalog tsismosas both meaning "one who gossips".

xismosas LOGO:
Referencing the meaning behind the name of the collective, I illustrated the playful act of sharing secrets. I added the touch of the long pink nails to indicate a sense of sassiness and being self-affirmed.
I created a version with a white background and version with a beige background to provide options depending on placement and use of the logo. The pink nails remained in both versions, to keep the collective's ongoing theme of pastel pink.

XISMOSAS
xismosas podcast:
This podcast series, accurately named "Xismosas", featured two long-time friend who spent every episode sharing the "chisme/tsismis", or gossip. This gossip usually centered around subjects varying from fashion to health to personal anecdotes; often told from a witty, thoughtful, and satiric perspective. The content is very adult as it is aimed at twenty-somethings and being contemporary.
I did the audio recording, audio editing, and engineering for this podcast. I edited the video to host the audio for the podcast and also composed the visual used behind it.

slay zine:
This zine was released before Halloween as a promotion for the collective showcasing fashion and a concept. The concept for the photo shoot plays off the word "slay", a colloquialism used within the queer community to exclaim when someone is succeeding doing something amazing (usually when it comes to fashion). The literal meaning of "slay" adds the element of campy horror to the aesthetic of the photoshoot.
I conceived the concept for the photoshoot and did the styling for the photoshoot. I edited the photos and did the layout for the zine's digital and print distribution. Photos were taken by San Francisco-based photographer, Erika Soliz.

style photos:
This photoshoot was taken to showcase the style of the hosts of the Xismosas Podcast to promote the fifth episode of the podcast, which centers around the discussion of fashion, style, and the way it affects identity. In post, photos were edited and composed by me. Photos were taken by San Francisco-based photographer, Erika Soliz.
